Today is a day set aside to say “Thank You” to those veterans who have served or are serving for my freedom to sit and write this! What an incredible gift your service has given and for that I celebrate you!
Being Sunday, today is also a day that believers will gather in buildings with the intention to celebrate Jesus, who gave His all for us. Many call what they are doing this morning “worship”. I am 100% confident that this is true. But, the question I ask myself this morning is “Who am I worshipping.” See, I have a tendency to think this celebration I will attend this morning is about me! Therefore, my whole attitude is determined on whether I like the style, the preaching, the music, the time it takes to get it all done, etc…! If just one of these things is not correct, my worship is hindered and I am not celebrating, but lamenting. Am I alone in this?
But as I think about it, this mindset is like celebrating myself on Veterans Day, which would be ridiculous! See, I have not fought the battles in the deserts or in the jungles. I have not faced the challenge of boot camp! I have not left my pregnant wife to serve my country. Therefore to celebrate myself on Veterans Day would be disrespectful and arrogant.
In the same way, only Jesus went to the cross for the reconciliation of man to God! I did not face the humiliation of being beaten to nothing. I did not have nails stuck through my hands and feet! I did not have a spear stuck through my side. BUT HE DID! Then He died!
So we celebrate heroes today! My uncle, my cousin, many friends, I say “thank you”! Jesus, I say “thank you”!
And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the Lord , call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. “Sing praises to the Lord , for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. (Isaiah 12:4, 5 ESV)
ONE LOVE, ONE GOD, ONE WAY

Amen and amen. And i am learning in this new adventure for us that it doesn’t matter how many people either. 1 + God = worship. I didn’t even know you had a blog. I see you post often ( : Hugs to you and your sweet family.
